As a mom of three, I’ve tested a lot of baby products. This sample Amazon baby registry is my list of favorites, the things I’d buy again. I registered at Amazon so almost everything was in one place. No registry fits every family and you don’t need every item here, so treat it as a starting point.

On the Go: Car Seats, Strollers & Carriers
Before choosing a stroller, work through my stroller buying guide to narrow down what fits your everyday routine. I love this carrier because it offers excellent support and adjusts as your baby grows. It’s bulkier than a wrap, but much easier to use for longer outings.

On the Go: Stroller & Car Seat Accessories
The Car Seat Cover does a lot. Use it on the car seat, a shopping cart, or a high chair, or as a nursing cover. Walking in the heat? This Stroller Fan is a must. Walking in the cold? You’ll want stroller gloves and a stroller footmuff.
Flying with a car seat? This Car Seat Travel Backpack lets you carry it through the airport on your back. If your baby is a lap child, pack the car seat in a padded bag and gate check it. It’s less likely to get damaged that way. Bonus: you can stuff extra diapers and coats in the bag, and it still checks free because it holds a car seat.

Contain & Entertain: Bouncers, Swings & Play Mats
You’ll love having safe places to put your baby down during the day. For more bouncers, swings, and play mats, plus when to use each one, read Contain & Entertain.
This Bouncer and Toy Bar are among my favorite baby items. Once your baby can sit up, this Activity Center keeps them safe while they play.
The BEST Play Mat was my favorite new find with baby #3. These Wooden Sensory Balls are simple, non-toxic toys babies love around 6 months. If your house has more than one floor, this Playard doubles as a second changing table.
Favorite Baby Toys
There are so many great toys and books out there. These are a few of my very favorites.
Sleep: Accessories, Swaddles, & Sleep Sacks
You won’t find a crib here because that’s a personal pick. For cribs, crib mattresses, and other places for baby to sleep, read Baby Sleep Spots. For more sleep gear, see Baby Sleep Stuff.
Plan on a few swaddles and sleep sacks. Your baby’s needs change fast, and they may end up with a favorite. These are my all-time favorites, and they’re popular with other moms too.
Diapering & Diaper Bags

If you choose a wipeable changing pad, you won’t need these liners. Otherwise, they are a must-have!
Bath Time

An infant tub makes newborn baths so much easier. Once you move to the big tub, add a Spout Cover to protect your baby’s head. The Foam Alphabet and Stacking Cups were the top bath toys for all three of my kids. And a Bath Toy Storage bin keeps toys from taking over the tub.
Feeding: Bottles & Bibs
I prefer silicone and glass bottles, but that might not be you. Also, not every baby takes every bottle. My Baby Bottle Buying Guide walks through the options so you can decide where to start.
These pocket bibs are my favorite. They wipe clean, roll up for storage, and catch food before it hits the floor.
Many of these you won’t need until baby is about six months old. But add them to your registry so you have them when ready.

Breastfeeding Essentials (If You Plan To)
There are plenty more breastfeeding essentials you may want on your registry. Shopping for a mom-to-be who plans to breastfeed? Build her a breastfeeding basket. And definitely get THIS! It didn’t exist until my third, and I wish I’d had it every time.
Baby Care
Babies can have strong opinions about pacifiers. Buy a couple of shapes and don’t stock up until you know which one they’ll take.

Everything below is on Amazon. The Amazon Baby Registry gives you a completion discount on items still left on your list: 10% for most people and 15% for Prime members. You can also set up Subscribe & Save for diapers and wipes to save on every order.
This list is built for a first baby. For a second or third baby, I’d suggest different things. And yes, you can make a registry for a later baby! I made one for my second and third and never shared it. I just used it to keep track of what we needed and to get the completion discount.
